Departments of Tergooi hospitals closed for days due to network outages
A number of departments at the Tergooi hospitals in Hilversum and Blaricum were closed from Wednesday evening to Thursday afternoon due to a network outage. The hospital reports this on its website. Due to the disruption, the hospital had initiated the emergency procedure on Thursday morning. The emergency, first heart and obstetrics departments were closed and no new patients were admitted. Also appointments at the outpatient clinics were canceled on Thursday afternoon, because there is too much delay. The hospital emphasizes that the safety of patients has not been compromised. The laboratories of the hospital are still struggling with backlogs. According to the hospital, there was a problem with two server switches. That made it impossible for hospital staff to access their applications. It was also difficult to reach the hospital system.

Netherlands: 'Maasstad Hospital Rotterdam closed due to possible Ebola case' (updated: false alarm)
Thanks to Pierre Don for alerting me to this story in NOS.nl: 'Maasstad Hospital Rotterdam closed due to possible Ebola case'.
The emergency services in Rotterdam have been massively pulled out due to a possible case of Ebola. An eyewitness tells the NOS that two men arrived at the GP station at Maasstad Hospital tonight. The eyewitness claims to be family of someone in the GP station.
One of the two men is said to show signs of the highly contagious disease. They don't speak Dutch and come from the Congo, according to the eyewitness.
The GP station was deposited with red and white ribbons on it and a large number of ambulances came to the GP station. Nobody is allowed outside or inside. 31 people are in quarantine.
The hospital's website doesn't seem to have anything on the story, but I'll check for more information. Here's a slightly longer story via RTV in Rotterdam, and #Ebola is suddenly full of Dutch tweets on the story. This is almost certainly a scare, not a real case. But if it is indeed real, it might draw a little more attention to Ebola in the DRC.
Update: Thanks again to Pierre Don, who advised me by email that NOS has just called this a false alarm.
Now we can go back to worrying about the real thing in the DR Congo and the ongoing lack of daily updates.

The emergency services were warned just before noon with the message 'odor-annoying air.' O mwonenden were told keeping windows and doors closed, and ventilation, if possible, to turn off. That warning applies to the entire area where the sirens have sounded.
Makado
Everywhere in the vicinity of Chemelot the alarms are followed. The doors of the Makado shopping center in Beek were closed, and visitors were advised to stay inside.
Disaster transmitter
The Security region has deployed L1 as an emergency transmitter. This means that the radio broadcast has been adjusted due to the calamity. Furthermore, people are kept constantly informed via L1 Teletext and this website.

Alert phase GRIP 3 for Chemelot emissions
The incident at Chemelot has since been scaled up to GRIP3.The GRIP scheme is used for incidents that are so great that the emergency services (ambulance, fire brigade, police) need coordinated assistance. There are four levels, GRIP 1 is the lowest level, GRIP 4 is the highest.
GRIP 3, which now applies to Chemelot, means that there may be major consequences for the population. The mayor of Sittard-Geleen will be in charge of fighting the disaster.

Leak Chemelot: Makado closes doors, stores Geleen closed
The Makado shopping center in Beek has closed its doors after the air alarm went off around noon.
At every door of the shopping center in Beek, right next to Chemelot, there was a security guard who told people that they can go outside at their own risk, but that it is better to stay inside. When the report was withdrawn by the fire brigade, the mall opened the doors again. By the way, not every visitor cared about that.
Geleen
In Geleen, shops were closed immediately when the alarm went off. The municipality also decided to break down the weekly market there. Not everywhere was the same logical response, according to an L1 listener, customers from a branch of the Jumbo in Geleen were told to leave the store.
Alarm
A still unknown amount of NOx or nitric acid escaped from the OCI Nitrogen nitric acid factory. An NL alert was also sent, in which it was warned to close windows and doors.
The shopping center is located exactly under the wind, and is in the area for which the fire department's warning applies. The sirens also sounded elsewhere in the Chemelot area, but the warning has been withdrawn there.
