Temporary no chicken nuggets available at many McDonald's in the Netherlands due to production error (supply chain)
The world-famous chicken snack from the McDonald's, the Chicken McNuggets, is unavailable at many Dutch McDonald's in the coming days. The chicken nuggets can not be delivered due to an error in the production process. Only the McDonalds who still have the chicken nuggets in stock can still provide the enthusiast with the snack. Probably the stores can be supplied at the end of this week, says spokesman Eunice Koekkoek. The nuggets are temporarily sold out because McDonald's did not have a certain batch delivered as a precaution, says Koekkoek. "We can not entirely exclude the possibility that there are strange pieces in this batch of nuggets due to a defective part of the production process of a supplier". Which pieces that are, the company does not say. In the coming days, customers of the restaurants will therefore be recommended other products. The other chicken products are available because they are supplied by another supplier. @hildelicious1 on Twitter Huh, we wanted to order chicken nuggets at @ McDonalds when we heard that McDonalds Netherlands just before decided not to sell chicken nuggets anymore. ?? Last year, 71 people were killed in industrial accidents. That was considerably more than the 54 in 2017, reports the SZW Inspectorate. The sector with the most deaths, twenty, was construction. This is followed by the transport and storage sector, trade and industry. The total number of serious accidents also increased. There were 4368 in 2018, an increase of 4 percent compared to a year earlier. Work faster and more efficiently "We see in this economy that we need to work faster and more efficiently," says Inspector General Marc Kuipers. "Consequence: more unsafe situations and more accidents, I call on companies to realize safe work equipment, safety procedures and a culture of healthy and safe working." According to a spokesperson for the SZW Inspectorate, the number of fatal accidents has been fluctuating between about 50 and 70 for years. "So it is still within the bandwidth we have seen for some time." Smaller companies The falling of height, being caught by moving parts of a machine, being hit by falling objects and collisions are the most common work accidents. They are relatively more common in small companies with fewer than ten employees. There are 67 people per 100,000 employees involved in an accident. At medium-sized companies there are 46 and at large companies 11. A few examples of industrial accidents last year: in January a man was electrocuted when he was replacing a water pipe at Helenaveen in Noord-Brabant, in May two men were killed in a machine factory in Leeuwarden and in August a man in the engine room of a ship in Werkendam. Employees The SZW Inspectorate now has employees, because many people are needed to investigate all those industrial accidents and to carry out preventive safety inspections. https://nos.nl/artikel/2273528-veel-meer-dodelijke-bedrijfsongevallen-bedrijven-moeten-er-meer-aan-doen.html |
Patient stop in Sneek hospital due to sick work atmosphere
The policlinic rheumatology of the Antonius Hospital in Sneek has not taken new patients for half a year because of a sick work atmosphere. The hospital confirms this after reporting in the Volkskrant . One of the three medical specialists has reported 'bullying and intimidation' to the company doctor, according to a letter that the newspaper has in its possession. She's been home for three-quarters of a year. Tensions The problems in the department are not new. As early as October 2016, the company doctor reported the poor proportions within the rheumatology department. Last summer he wrote at the top of the hospital that he "had again employees at the consultation hour who experience a lot of work-related complaints because of tensions in the department". Meanwhile, a nursing rheumatism consultant has left the hospital with a departure scheme. Discussions are still being held with the home rheumatologist. Because coaching and mediation did not help, one specialist is exempt from work. "In order to reduce the workload, a stop was announced last summer for new patients, which meant that the care for the current patients and emergency patients on the clinic rheumatology was maintained", reports the hospital. The hospital also says that it wants to set up an independent investigation into the functioning of the department of Rheumatology. Extra painful According to the Volkskrant, the situation is extra painful because there is little rheumatic care in Friesland and the Noordoostpolder. The waiting times are longer than the legal four weeks. Moreover, the Antonius Zorggroep, which includes a home care organization in addition to the hospital in Sneek, is taking over the care in the Noordoostpolder from the bankrupt IJsselmeer hospitals. The hospital says it is talking to different parties to be able to lift the patient stop as soon as possible.
